Epoxy Resins for MotorsImpregnating Resins Impregnating Resins:The Epoxylite VPI (vacuum pressure impregnation) resins were designed specifically to provide complete and void free impregnation of dry-wound, insulated, form or random wound stators to satisfy the requirements of IEEE specifications for sealed systems. In addition to thorough impregnation, the material provides a smooth continuous coating on the external surfaces of the wound coils and does not flow from the slot area during the cure cycle. The VPI process with Epoxylite motor impregnants provides better environmental and mechanical protection than several dip and bake cycles with conventional varnishes. Because all air and moisture contaminants are removed in the vacuum step, the VPI method can ensure complete filling of voids. The pressure cycle makes the process fast and efficient. Our resins are 100% solventless to meet the strictest environmental standards and epoxy based to maintain the highest quality standards in the industry. Epoxylite is the only company in the United States to sell both impregnating resins and impregnation equipment. This guarantees that we are able to offer you the most comprehensive level of service in every stage of processing. Varnishes for use with a Dip and Bake ProcessFor impregnation of random wound motors in which the air is easily displaced from the area to be impregnated, a dip and bake process may be a viable option. A pre-heat step to remove moisture is usually required. |
